Mega Evolution - Delta Reign (November 6, 2026)

Here is what The Pokemon Company has announced so far.

• Over 135 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and over 35 cards with special illustrations.

• Mega Rayquaza ex leads the set, with Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex.

• It belongs to the Mega Evolution series.

• Prerelease: from October 24, 2026, select Play! Pokemon stores sell the Delta Reign Build & Battle Box, which holds four booster packs, a 40-card deck and one of four foil promos (Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o). The boxes go on general sale at launch.

How a prerelease works. It's a smaller game than usual, Pokemon's prerelease page says. Each player builds a 40-card deck from the Build & Battle Box and its four packs, and sets aside four Prize cards instead of six. The card pool is small, so it's a good first look at a new set even if you never play competitively. To find one, search Pokemon's Event Locator for a store near you.

30th Celebration (released September 16, 2026)

30th Celebration came out on the same day worldwide to mark 30 years of the game. Pokemon's own pages list what sets it apart:

• Over 150 cards.

• Every card in a booster pack is foil, and every pack holds one of 30 different Pikachu rare cards, each drawn by a different artist.

• The Classic Collection reprints famous cards from the last three decades with a new foil treatment, including Base Set Charizard and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX from Team Up.

• Futuristic rare cards of Mew and Mewtwo by the artist YOSHIROTTEN, who also designed the pack's Basic Energy card.

I love this set: the art on the Japanese booster box, the Charizard, and all 30 Pikachus. The Classic Collection Charizard reprint appears in The Rarest Charizard Cards, Set by Set.

Every English set from 2025 and 2026

Of the six 2026 releases above, five are out and one, Delta Reign, is still to come. That's a main or special expansion roughly every two months. It's a pattern from one year's schedule, not an announcement, so don't plan on a set in a given month until Pokemon dates it.

Reading a release date

• Prerelease is not release. Prerelease boxes come out up to two weeks early, at select stores, for prerelease events. The release date is when the set reaches stores in general. Check which date a listing or a post means.

• One set, many dates. A set launches with some products, and others follow for months. 30th Celebration launched on September 16, and its last listed product is due December 4. If you want one product, look up that product's date, not the set's.

• Pokemon Center versions. Some products have an exclusive Pokemon Center edition. The 30th Celebration Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box, out on launch day, holds 11 packs instead of 9 and a second Nidorina promo stamped with the Pokemon Center logo. Read the contents line before you buy, so you know which edition you're getting.

• English only. This page covers English releases announced on the US Pokemon sites. Sets in other languages have their own names and dates.

• Pokemon TCG Pocket is a separate digital game. Its "expansions" are not physical card sets and are not listed here.

Buying cards from a new set

I usually wait a while after a set comes out before I buy singles from it. Opening a new set is fun, but I don't like paying release-week prices for singles, so I hold off. That is my habit, not a rule.

If you wait too, you don't have to keep checking. Put the cards you want on a ChaseBoard watch with the price you're willing to pay, and you get an alert when a matching listing appears at that price.
